Letter: Online learning

My daughter graduated from Christopher Newport University this past spring with the last portion being online. CNU is not set up for online learning just like Mathews and Gloucester. The best of intentions for all concerned but still not their specialty to deliver a learning environment online.

I can understand the frustration of on again, off again in classroom learning as my daughter went through the same thing when deciding to get her masters. CNU was sitting on the fence about the summer and fall sessions. She didn’t like the fact that a decision couldn’t be made about how they were going to deliver her lessons, online or in the classroom. She would rather be in class, but wanted the decision to be consistent for the entire school year not back and forth.

Again, no fault of CNU, but they are not set up to provide a robust learning experience online. She decided to go with a major private university here in Virginia that has a complete online learn...
