It is hard not to recognize the large void when you drive past the location of the old Page Middle school and former GHS. It has been over four years, but it doesn’t seem that long ago. The tornado changed the landscape at the school site and other places. Thank the Lord we haven’t had any more.
The school board’s decision to build on T.C. Walker Road is still mentioned when you speak with folks. There are certainly naysayers in the county. I was one of those naysayers, but I’ve moved on.
At some point we need to realize the children of our county are the benefactors of the new school. I hope the grand opening goes well and wish the school staff and the entire school system future success. I hope the majority of Gloucester’s citizens feel likewise.
