Letter: Mixed messages from Senate candidate

On Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, Jamie Radtke, past chairwoman of the Federation of Virginia Tea Party Patriots—who is running for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate—spoke at the Lighthouse Worship Center to members of the local Patriot group. Radtke said she is a strong supporter of the Constitution and bad mouthed Democrats and Republicans alike for passing Medicare Part D and said we don’t want to become like socialist Europe.

Questioned about Social Security, Medicare "A" and "B" and other unconstitutional entitlement programs, she said she would continue to fund them. All right … mark me down as confused! Medicare "D" is bad, but "A" and "B" are good? European socialism is bad, but Social Security (European socialism lite) is acceptable?
