Letter: Mathews SEAC wants you

Do you have a child with special needs? Are you interested in assisting those in our community with special needs to reach their full potential? Do you have concerns about the education our special needs population is receiving? Do you have ideas to improve the educational experience? 

If so, the Mathews County Special Education Advisory Committee wants you. The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) is frequently described as the PTA for students with special needs. The committee’s responsibilities include advising the local school division about unmet needs in the education of special needs children, assisting each school in formulating and developing plans for improving the performance of special needs students, and participating in the development of priorities and strategies for meeting the identified needs of children with disabilities, to list just a few.
