Letter: Jones for Congress

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I just want voters to know who Rob Wittman is beyond his big smile and handshaking. I will never forget that even after the insurrectionists stormed the Capital on Jan. 6 in an attempt to overturn the results of a legitimate election, Wittman stood up and objected to the certification of electors from Pennsylvania. With one action, he validated the violent attack on our democracy and became an election denier. We can’t count on Wittman to protect our democracy.

We also can’t count on Witt-man to protect the rights of women. He voted against the Right to Contraception Act, Women’s Health Protection Act that would have codified Roe v. Wade, and the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. He also voted against the Marriage Protection Act that makes sure both men and women can marry whomever they choose.
