Letter: If only guns were so ‘well regulated’

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Preparing for an overseas trip, I decided to purchase precautionary over-the-counter medications to take with me. Said items were Mucinex, Pepto-Bismol, a box of daytime cold medication and a box of nighttime cold medication. Upon checkout, I was told that two of the medications would need to be purchased at another time. I could go back in line, come back another day or the clerk would ring them as a separate sale. I chose the latter.

This apparently is either a law or a rule to prevent drug addicts or teenagers from mixing them together for a quick high. I fully understood and actually think it is a good law. After arriving home, I got to thinking: I cannot purchase four over-the-counter medications at one time, but I can go to a gun show and purchase as many guns, semi-automatic weapons and large ammunition clips at one time, without any questions being asked of me.
