What’s with people recently? There’s so much litter on the roadsides! It’s ugly and depressing. I drive along pondering the thoughtlessness of my fellow man, and looking forward to participating in Clean Gloucester Day on March 9th.

I’m so grateful for the efforts of all the conscientious people who pick up litter on their own. Their efforts keep the roadsides from looking like dumpsites.

On March 9, from 8 a.m. to noon, the Gloucester Clean Community Committee is inviting Gloucester residents to pick up litter. Choose an area, perhaps get some people to help you, and clean it up.

Gloves, vests and buckets, and a dumpster will be available at the two staging areas: Main Street Library and Guinea Road Convenience Center commuter lot. Register and they’ll have your supplies waiting for you. Ca...
