Letter: For Forrest

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Yes, let’s vote for Lorraine Forrest using some of the same rationale that was used by some several years ago when a newcomer to our community was running against a district incumbent. We were told the person hasn’t lived in the county long enough to understand our area or the local ways. There were several such letters to this paper stating such. Now, some of the same people have this to say about the other candidate running for Mathews School Board: “It doesn’t matter how long you’ve lived here, but how much you care.”

Well, we care a lot about a generation of family members who have given a lot and do understand our area, most specifically our children and school employees. I start by listing Lorraine’s uncle, Francis Morgan, a waterman who worked away but came home to give back to his community.
