One of the most important responsibilities of a parent is to ensure basic, functional education for their children so they can understand, enjoy, and contribute to the world around them. That is not as easy as it used to be. Today the state plays a large (some would say too large) role through educational finance, certifications, and regulations. In November, Virginians can choose to make education better or worse.
Four years ago, we made an outstanding choice for improving education by electing Governor Youngkin, largely because he championed parental rights and school choice. Despite a Democratic majority in the state house blocking many of his attempts, he kept fighting. Now his lieutenant, Winsome Sears, is taking up the fight. If she does not win, Democrat Abigail Spanberger will erase any gains and condemn our children to schools that continue to fail.
