Letter: Cuccinelli for governor

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

For several weeks I have been manning the RPV phone bank, off and on. One of the responses I occasionally get is, "I usually vote Republican, but I don’t like Cuccinelli." O.K., Mr. Cuccinelli has some baggage (although certainly no more than his opponent), but the real issue in this governor’s race is not the man, but the ideology. A vote for Terry McAuliffe is a vote for the nanny-state, liberal agenda; a vote for Ken Cuccinelli is a vote for conservative values. It is as simple as that. Which is your preference?

Take a look at your new health insurance premiums: Do you like what you see? Do you know someone whose work hours have been cut back, or perhaps lost his/her job because their company had to get below the 50-employee minimum? That is what Obamacare has done for us. That is what the Democratic Party has done for us, and Mr. McAuliffe is solidly behind it.
