Letter: Consensus isn’t science

I thoroughly enjoyed your reporting of the rally against environmental extremism. Your numerous use of “attempting,” “suggesting” and “claimed” gave the distinct impression that you might consider the arguments made by Mr. Morano and DeWeese spurious, without foundation.

As Mr. Morano pointed out, or as you described it, claimed, global temperatures have remained essentially flat for the past 17 ½ years. Perhaps it should be pointed out that some of the world’s most influential scientists at the East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit in England were found peddling fraudulent science in the Climategate scandal, and that the United National Environment Program predicted in 2005 that there would be 50 million climate refugees by 2010. He later tried to scrub the prediction from the website, yet this still isn’t the point.
