Editor, Gazette-Journal: In a speech on April 1, President Trump promised that we would “bring Iran back to the Stone Ages.” At age 91, my memory is a little fuzzy, but I recall that, early in the Vietnam War, Gen. Curtis LeMay, the USAF Chief of Staff, said that we would bomb North Vietnam “back to the Stone Age.” That did not work out well for us. But I would not expect President Trump to remember that.
