Letter: A wild, crazy ride

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

On June 30, after 37 years and nine months, I am retiring as the Athletic Supervisor for Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism. It is truly with mixed emotions, I am looking forward to a new chapter and new adventures in my life.

I am looking forward to not getting up between 5:30-6:30 a.m. after a night of rain on a supposed day off to determine if we will play whatever sport.

I am looking forward to not being out there at 6:30 a.m. toting around Diamond Dry and raking/dragging fields.

I am looking forward to not having to deal with that small percentage of people who just don’t get it and think it is their purpose to make sure everyone else hears their loud, unsportsmanlike voice and feel they have a right to yell at me.

I am looking forward to not having to deal with schedules that have been ravished by weather and/or schools bumping us.

However, I will dearly miss so much. I will miss all of the awesome people I had the privilege to work with...
