I want to thank everyone involved in volunteering, supporting and participating in the 21st annual Tour de Chesapeake cycling event, but especially our director Lynda Smith Greve. Lynda has been the director of this event for many years now, starting back when this event fell under the purview of Bike Virginia, a non-profit dedicated to promoting cycling initiatives and opportunities throughout the state.
After 2011, Bike Virginia decided to end its involvement in the TDC to focus on larger, more profitable events. It was Lynda who encouraged many of us volunteers to pull together to keep the TDC going once again in 2012, and under her continuing leadership and tireless efforts, the event has grown into a successful, unique and popular event for cyclists throughout Virginia and beyond.
