Letter: Uncertainty is an added stressor

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The ongoing shortages of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the incredibly slow rollout of the available vaccines is, to put it mildly, frustrating. Supposedly, Gloucester County is in Phase 1b. This group includes teachers. Yet there is absolutely no determination by the Three Rivers Health District as to when our educators will receive the shot. What is even more frustrating and confusing is the fact that the private school teachers in Gloucester County have received their first shot. How did that happen? Why were the public school teachers not included in this distribution?

Furthermore, teachers in Williamsburg-James City County have received their first shot—and their students are NOT in the classroom. Newport News teachers will receive their shots Thursday and they are also all virtual. I realize these two school systems are in different health districts. If those health districts can accomplish the vaccinations, why can’t Three Rivers?
