Leo Theadore Markot was born in Bristol, Connecticut, on Oct. 27, 1937. He died in hospice care at the Sacred Heart Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida, on Aug. 26, 2019. He was 81 years old.

He is survived by his son, Steven Markot Sr.; his daughter, Diane Markot Schinstine, and his grandchildren, Steven and Terrra.

He served his country for over 20 years; much of this time was away from his home and family (including Southeast Asia during the Vietnam Conflict).

He was a good man and father. He will be truly missed. May he RIP.
