Lemon receives VCCSphilanthropy award

Carolyn A. Lemon of Gloucester was presented the 19th annual Virginia Community College System’s Chancellor’s Award for Leadership in Philanthropy during a luncheon ceremony in Richmond on April 15, hosted by the Virginia Foundation for Community College Education. She was nominated for the award by Rappahannock Community College.
For the past 20 years, Lemon has served on the board of the RCC Educational Foundation where she has advocated and fundraised for the college. She has also tutored RCC students and established the CAL scholarship for deserving students at the school.
This year’s class of distinguished philanthropy leaders has collectively contributed over $24 million to Virginia’s community colleges.
