“Taking Tea and Taxes,” a lecture by Celeste Fetta, chief educator at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, will be presented by the Middle Peninsula Fine Arts Association of Gloucester at 7:15 p.m. next Thursday, April 23, at Arts on Main, 6580 Main Street, Gloucester. It is free and open to the public. Fetta holds a BA in art history with a minor in anthropology from the College of William and Mary, as well as an MA in decorative art history from the University of Glasgow. She will trace the evolution of tea from a royal social hour in Britain to a revolutionary spark in Colonial America by examining objects and material culture, including silver and ceramics from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts collection. This is MPFAA’s final lecture of the 2026 season. For more information about the organization, email mpfaa1958@gmail.com....
