LAWRENCE LEE ‘LARRY’ HAYWOOD SR.

Lawrence Lee “Larry” Haywood Sr., age 64, of Saluda, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was in Kansas with his beloved son, Lee, doing what he loved most in life which was deer hunting, when he unexpectedly got sick. While on the farm in Kansas, Larry was able to finally make his lifelong dream come true of shooting the largest deer of his lifetime when God had other plans in mind several days later.

Larry was known as the “Master Operator of Heavy Equipment” and worked for Basic Construction for numerous years as well as with Mid-County Land Contractors. His love for hunting, fishing and being with his family was among his most cherished possessions. After retirement, Larry joined his son and daughter-in-law’s company at Haywood Floor Covering Inc. as their right-hand man. His dedication, work ethic and passion for their company shined through every day.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Debra Sue Haywood; his father and mother, Frank and Marie Haywood; his brothers, Thomas Haywood and Donnie Haywood.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his soulmate and wife, Terry W. Haywood; daughter, Angel Bauman and husband Eric; son, Lee Haywood and wife Shelly; daughter, Kelsey Briggs and husband Devon; son, Christopher Haywood; sisters, Janice Florentz and husband Wally; Barbara Wright and husband Billy; brothers, Frank Haywood and his twin brother, Harry Haywood and wife Holly; grandchildren, Skyler and Faith Bauman, D.J. and Liam Briggs, Nathan Haywood; multiple nieces and nephews and mother-in-law, Gwen Callis, along with his friends and work colleagues.

The family will receive friends at Hogg Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, from 6-7:30 p.m. A graveside service conducted by the Rev. Carol Bookwalter will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at noon in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery.  Friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
