Launch Gloucester Party rescheduled to tonight

Like so many other local events last Thursday, the Launch Gloucester Party to kick off an entrepreneurship program was postponed because of icy weather. The party was rescheduled for 6 o’clock tonight at the Main Street Event Space in Main Street Center, Gloucester.
Ashley Gilmartin, executive director of sponsor Gloucester Main Street Association, said there will be two principal speakers at the meeting: Del. Keith Hodges (R-Urbanna) and Margie Johnson of Virginia Beach-based Shop Talk.
Gilmartin said she received 41 applications from prospective entrepreneurs looking to open a new business or open a second location of an existing business on Main Street. Judges pared that number to 15 entrepreneurs, who began an eight-week business training program on March 9. Johnson is leading the training, and has led other business training programs for the association.
