Lady Devils fall to King William

The Mathews High School varsity softball team fell to King William Tuesday night at home, 8-5.

Leading hitters for Mathews were Reese Brock and Morgan Crittenden who both hit two singles. Aly Jackson, Joice Small and Chelsea Armistead all hit one single each.

According to Head Coach J.J. Ashberry, Mathews gave up seven runs in the second inning, but the Lady Devils battled all seven innings to put themselves in position to pull out a win but fell short.
