Dukes drop two

The Gloucester High School varsity baseball team suffered two losses this past week, breaking its previously undefeated winning streak.

The Dukes lost, 5-1, to Menchville on the road last Thursday. Gloucester had four hits and two errors, while Menchville had five hits and one error. Duke Brayden Enoch had two hits in four at-bats.

Gloucester traveled to Bethel on Tuesday and lost to the Bruins, 4-3. Bethel had six hits and two errors, while the Dukes had six hits and no errors. Chandler Howlett had two hits for three at-bats.

The Dukes have a current record of 10-2 and are scheduled to face off against Bethel again this afternoon at home.
