Lady Devil McKenzie Bartlett hit a single that drove in two runs in last Thursday’s game against Northumberland. Mathews fell to the visiting Indians, 8-4, with pitcher Hailey Love recording 12 strikeouts. The Mathews girls were led offensively by Bentlea Lawrence, who had three singles, with Marley Brock, Hannah Davis, Kylee Swanson and Bartlett also recording hits. On Monday, the MHS girls defeated Warwick, 14-2. Love had 10 strikeouts and multiple MHS girls had hits. On Tuesday, the MHS girls suffered a tough 8-0 loss against the visiting Gloucester Dukes on seven unearned runs. Mathews was held hitless in the contest with Love striking out eight.
