Bank of America Senior Vice President George Thorn, third from left, has announced the donation of $75,000 from the Anne Mullen Orrell Trust to the Kingston Housing Initiative to assist in the conversion of the Kingston Rectory on Mathews Main Street into workforce housing. Thorn said Orrell, who passed away at her Cardinal home in 2021, created the trust to support a variety of charitable causes across Virginia and in Flint, Michigan, the home town of her late husband, Captain Robert W. Orrell. The trust supports vulnerable populations, mental and traditional health care and historic preservation projects, said Thorn. Shown, from left, are Tim Hudgins, architect for the project and a member of the rectory project committee; The Very Rev. Gary Barker, parish rector; Thorn; committee member Josie Thorpe; parish senior warden Marti Bowen, and committee co-chair Bill Stearns.
