The Mathews Outdoor Club organized the first Coastal Virginia Kickball Tournament on May 21. Six teams competed with the Parlett Painting team taking the trophy. Members of the winning team include, back row from left, Jalen Matthews, Lorenzo Wright, LaRhonda Cosby, Jovan Johnson, Reggie Johnson, Zhane Johnson; front row, Virginia Johnson, Samera Thomas, P.J. Roye, Chris Davis, Daveon Johnson and Venita Fields. Second place went to Ball Busters, while Average Joes took third, Living Waters Church #1 team placed fourth, and 99 Problems & A Pitch Ain’t One and Living Waters Church #2 ended in a tie for fifth place. “It was a fun, local event that we hope to make an annual tradition for the area,” MOC president Christine Johnson said.
