Joyce H. Hudgins, 86, of Mathews, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Riverside Convalescent Center-Mathews.

She was a dedicated homemaker, devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. Joyce was a member of Peniel Friends Church, Onemo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Gladys Hutson, and a son, W. Steve Hudgins.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, William C. Hudgins; two children, Charles Hudgins (Carol) and Allen Hudgins (Connie); two grandchildren, Angela Mathiason and Steve Hudgins; four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Virginia Tatum of Arizona.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Peniel Friends Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private.

The family would like to thank the staff at the convalescent center for their loving care.
