Jones seeks second term on Mathews BOS

Dave Jones, 62, of Mathews has announced his candidacy for a second term on the Mathews County Board of Supervisors. He is running as a Republican.
Jones said he is a pro-life Christian conservative who is pro-business and against progressive educational policies. He said he has never voted to raise taxes and never will, that he will never vote to sell the county-owned Hole in the Wall property on Gwynn’s Island, and that he stands with Mathews County Sheriff April Edwards regarding her desire to keep the dispatch center in the county. He said he wants to continue to work to preserve Mathews County’s history, and he promises to serve with honesty, integrity and transparency.
A staunch opponent of Virginia’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger, Jones said he is “a big proponent of Winsome Earle-Sears (the state’s Republican gubernatorial candidate) and Jason Miyares (the Republican attorney general candidate).”
