Jones named executive director of Gloucester House

Garrett L. Jones has been named executive director of Gloucester House, an assisted living and memory care facility on Meredith Drive, Gloucester.

Jones replaced Deirdre Lund of Mathews as director, whom he said now works for another health care facility.

He heads a staff of 80-90 full- and part-time workers. The Gloucester House has a capacity of 96 residents, who are housed in private and semi-private rooms.

A key to the facility is assisted care, with some residents having more ability than others. Gloucester House has an area for regular assisted care, which is mostly for seniors but sometime includes younger people needing assistance with daily living skills. The Memory Care unit is designed for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, Jones said, and “The Cottage” is for memory-impaired people who need more care.
