JACKIE MEIER

Jackie Meier died in the Port Saint Lucie Medical Center on April 19, 2012 at the age of 86.

She was surrounded in her last days by her loving partner, Albert Muren; her daughters, Jan and Rhea; her son, Jim Jr. and his wife Lisa; her granddaughter, Kim, and her ex-husband, Jim Mullins Sr.

Jackie grudgingly admitted being born on Nov. 5, 1925 in Gloucester, Va. She was named Evelyn Lelia Bailey, but she was always known as Jack by her father, Capt. William Bailey, and as Jackie by her mother, Violet, as well as the rest of her family and friends.

Except for three glorious years traveling across our country and Mexico with her beloved husband, Hank Meier, in a motor home, she lived in Virginia, Massachusetts or Florida throughout her life.

In death she follows her brothers, James and Bill, and she is survived by her three children; her three grandchildren, Kelly, Kim and Ashley, and six great-grandchildren.

She touched many other lives very deeply, including Hank’s, Al’s and Lisa’s families.

Jackie was an avid tennis player, an energetic, vivacious and openly loving and giving soul, and she will be greatly missed.
