Mathews resident William “Billy” Hooper, 53, of Williams Wharf Road was extradited to Mathews on Thursday, Dec. 19, and formally charged with multiple felony offenses involving children. He had been held in a jail in Charles County, Maryland since Nov. 22 after having been determined to be a fugitive from justice by the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office.
The charges Hooper faces are human trafficking, solicitation of prostitution of a minor under 16 years of age, forcible sodomy, two counts of manufacture child pornography, and two separate counts of use of communications systems to facilitate offenses involving children.
Hooper was processed and held without bond, said a press release from the Mathews County Sheriff’s Office. He is being housed in the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center and is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on Monday, Dec. 23, in Mathews County General District Court. ...
