Martha Wiggs of Hayes scored a hole in one on the fifth hole at the Piankatank River Golf Club, Hartfield. She used her pitching wedge from 80 yards out to score her first ace. The event was witnessed by Vicky Gunn, Sue Silberhorn and Karen Gorin. She scored the hole in one while playing with members of the Piankatank River Ladies Golf Association on July 7 in the group’s Cha Cha Cha format contest. The foursome of Michele Manley, Mary Francisco, Donna Lange placed first with a team score of 130. Nina Carter, Christi Lewis and Chong Hudgins took second with a 131, while Wiggs, Gunn, Silberhorn and Gorin came in third with a 131.
