Danny McCloud, a part owner of Hodges and Bryant, LLC, in Gloucester, has become managing partner for a new company that owns that building and more than a dozen nearby apartments.

SDJ Properties, LLC, purchased Hodges & Bryant, LLC, on Aug. 7. McCloud is the managing member for SDJ, which includes the first initials of McCloud’s wife, Scottie, the bookkeeper--the ‘S’; McCloud, the ‘D’, and their son Jake, an office assistant, the ‘J’. All reside in Gloucester.

McCloud said he purchased Hodges and Bryant from Richard Bryant and his sister, Phyllis Bryant Harris, both of Gloucester. The Harris and Bryant families had started the business in 1948.
