Library volunteer Gordon Keith, wearing his Gordon Klan Scottish kilt, demonstrates the proper way to compete in the stone put competition, using a cabbage instead of a stone, during Mathews Memorial Library’s annual Highland Games, one of the library’s signature events, held on Friday at the Piankatank Ruritan Club, Hudgins. In addition to traditional Scottish games, the event also included a performance by members of the Kilmarnock and District Pipe Band.
