Helping Hearts In-Home Care, LLC, is open for business, and has a focus on helping seniors stay in the comfort of their own homes, assisted living, nursing and independent living residences.

The business, located in Gloucester, will serve Gloucester, Mathews, Saluda, Yorktown, Grafton, Williamsburg and Newport News. A grand opening is scheduled for Wednesday, with light refreshments provided.

Business owner Berita Simmons has more than 20 years of management experience and over 17 of those years in the health care field. Both Simmons and her husband Gary have been caregivers to their own family members and she has been a patient herself. “We know first-hand that you really have to be compassionate about what you do and compassionate with those you are helping,” Simmons said.
