HeartChase Gloucester to benefit AHA

HeartChase Gloucester, an interactive game to raise money for the American Heart Association, will be held Saturday in and around Gloucester Court House. Registration for the 90-minute activity begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Court Circle, with the event kicking off at 9.

According to HeartChase spokesperson Kelli James, teams compete to earn points by completing checkpoint challenges. “After the 90 minutes is up, we give out awards for the team with the most points, top fundraising team and more,” James said. “Our goal with this event is to get information out to the community on heart healthiness and how to improve your heart health and life.”

The event first came to Gloucester in 2014, and was organized by Gloucester resident and county attorney Ted Wilmot. Heart disease hit Wilmot close to home as his daughter, Kendall, died in 2013 at the age of 20 from two undetected heart conditions.
