The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on a request for a conditional use permit during the regular monthly meeting beginning at 6 o’clock this evening, Thursday, Nov. 20, in the historic courthouse on Court Street.
The Towers LLC and Cellco Partnership (Verizon Wireless), in conjunction with property owners Matthew and Stephanie Lowe of Cobbs Creek, have requested a conditional use permit to construct and operate a 195-foot self-supporting monopole telecommunications tower on 26.9 acres zoned Rural on Cobbs Creek Lane near Buckley Hall Road. The Mathews County Planning Commission held a public hearing on the application on Nov. 12 and voted unanimously to recommend approval.
