Hard-boiled egg vital to Easter and Passover celebrations

Easter is Christianity’s most important holiday. It has been called a moveable feast because it doesn’t fall on a set date every year. Christian churches in the West (using the Gregorian calendar) celebrate Easter on the first Sunday following the full moon after vernal equinox on March 21. Therefore, Easter can be anywhere from March 22 to April 25. The earliest date of March 22 first occurred in 1761 and will occur again in 2285. The latest date of April 25 happened in 1886 for the first time and will not happen again until 2038. This year Easter Sunday falls on April 5.

Also timed by the full moon, the Jewish holiday of Passover begins April 3 and runs through April 11.
