Halloween drive-in movie to be held at Gloucester High School parking lot

For the first time, Gloucester’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department will host a drive-in movie night.

“It’s a BOO-tiful Night for a Movie,” a Halloween-themed film night, will be held from 6-9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the Gloucester High School student parking lot. The 1993 film “Hocus Pocus” stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as a trio of diabolical witches.

“This has been something we’ve wanted to do for a long time,” said Katey Legg, Gloucester’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism director. “With the pandemic, we thought this would be a perfect opportunity to provide this socially-distanced, fun activity for our community.”

Tickets are $15 per car. All participants will be required to stay inside their vehicles. No tailgating will be allowed. The audio for the movie will be transmitted through your vehicle’s speakers. Vehicles will be placed in every other parking space. Gates will open at 6 and the movie begins at 6:45.
