Half-off adoption fees at Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society through Dec. 23

} The Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society is offering half-off adoption fees through Monday in the hopes of helping homeless pets meet their matches and join their forever homes in time for the holidays.

Adoption fees are typically $150 for dogs and $80 for cats. Right now, adoption fees are $75 for dogs and $40 for cats. All pets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and also given basic inoculations. Each pet is microchipped as well. Pets are also taught basic manners and commands and undergo behavior evaluations. 

A variety of cats and dogs are available for adoption and need loving homes. “Gwen,” a Terrier/American Staffordshire mix, has been at the Humane Society since March of this year. She is 4 years, 7 months old and is looking for a home with no other dogs or cats. She knows basic commands, chews on appropriate toys and loves to play tug. Gwen would be a great companion for long walks and snuggles, according to the GMHS staff.
