PC Commander’s, Inc., located at 17 Plaza, Hayes, will hold a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 o’clock today.
The first 50 customers will each receive a $10 gift certificate that can be used on their next service, a release said.
This is the first business to receive several grants under a new Gloucester County Economic Development Authority program to assist local businesses in improving their look and market presence, said Sherry Spring, Gloucester’s director of economic development.
“We are pleased to provide these incentive programs,” EDA chairman David Meeker said. In all, owner Brandon Hawthorne received grants totaling $2,956 under the EDA’s assistance for property improvement, facade improvement and e-commerce to boost his computer, phone and tablet sales and repair business that opened in early May.
Previously, the EDA awarded a $500 grant for cooperative advertising to several Gloucester marinas that ran a large ad in Chesapeake Magazine touting the county’s change to No Boat Tax, Spring said.
She said several other grant awards will be announced soon.
“Improving our local economy has been a goal of the board, this program and the hard work of the EDA is helping do just that,” said Ashley Chriscoe, chairman of the Gloucester Board of Supervisors.
