Grace Covenant to hold July 4 celebration

Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church on Main Street, Gloucester, will offer a patriotic Independence Day celebration at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4. The celebration, now in its sixth year, will feature the music of 1776, patriotic standards such as the National Anthem, “America,” “America the Beautiful,” “God Bless America,” a reading from the Declaration of Independence, a choral tribute to the Armed Forces, the piano duet “Stars and Stripes Forever,” and the reading of Paul Harvey’s essay, “Our Lives, Our Fortunes, and Our Sacred Honor.”

This year’s celebration will be held outdoors under a large tent. The public is welcome to bring lawn chairs. The day’s festivities will close with a roll call of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and a live musket salute for all patriots by Revolutionary War reenactor Warren Deal.
