Goodfellas restaurant reopens under former management

The owners of Goodfellas, a restaurant on Route 17, White Marsh, saw a business opportunity and decided to return to their former building that had more recently been under a different name and ownership.

Barbara "Bobbie" Reed of Gloucester, said she owns Goodfellas with her husband, Charlie, and their daughter, Morgan. They opened the new Goodfellas in mid-July.

The restaurant specializes in steaks, pasta and seafood, Bobbie Reed said. Head chef Shad Mohammad said that prime rib and she crab soup are especially popular dishes.

Mohammad has more than 25 years’ restaurant experience. Originally from Pakistan, he attended a culinary school in Texas. He worked at several restaurants in Williamsburg and Gloucester, including the old Goodfellas.

 

Assistant chef Miguel Avalos has about 10 years’ culinary experience. He previously worked at several other restaurants in this region including the former Goodfellas.
