Good ol’ music days revived Saturday at Opry

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry members will kick up their heels Saturday night, Oct. 14 and return to the “good ol’ days” of country and rock and roll from the decades of the 1970s and 1980s. The show will be at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30.

“Since our Oldies shows are the most requested of each year, we decided to do two this year with this week’s show focusing on ’70s and ’80s music,” stated Lynda Smith, Opry President.

Songs from Emmylou Harris, Reba, Conway Twitty, The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton and more are on the program.The show will feature the house band, Shades of Country, and Opry singers including newcomer Shane Norris, Lynda Smith, William Earl Sadler, Ralph Motley, David Shuber, Sam Hogge, Mike McDevitt, Susan Ripley, Tracy Hill, A.J. McKeen, Michael Gregg, Richard Smith and LeighAnn Abbott.
