Gordmans opened its doors in the York River Crossing Shopping Center, Hayes, on Tuesday.

Gordmans is the newest department store in Gloucester, opening in the location where Peebles had operated since 1990. The store is an off-price department store with a large selection of the latest brands, fashions and styles.

According to Assistant Store Manager Maribel Loveland, the prices at Gordmans have more value than other stores. Staff member Angela Hysmith seconded that notion by assuring the products at the store are trending, and new every week.

Currently, the store is functioning under its normal hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., but will be altering those hours next week due to the spread of COVID-19. The flexed hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They are also taking the measures to have available hand sanitizer throughout the store, and routinely clean the store as well.
