Gloucester’s countywide cleanup set for March 16

This spring’s Clean Gloucester Day has been set from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 16. The countywide litter cleanup day has become a community tradition with hundreds of volunteers removing litter from roadways, businesses, schools, neighborhoods and parks, according to Leslie Bowie, the county’s Clean Community coordinator. Church groups will be encouraged to be part of the cleanup effort this year.

The Clean Community office will support volunteers with supplies such as litter grabbers, trash bags and safety vests.

“Volunteers are already contacting our office about the event,” Bowie said. “This is a way for anyone to give back to the community; positive results are easy to see when you are out there picking up trash.”

For more information or to register, call the Clean Community office at 804-693-5370 or visit CleanGloucesterDay.com.  ...
