Gloucester School Board meets tonight

The Gloucester School Board will hold an electronic meeting beginning at 5:30 tonight. The meeting will be broadcast on Cox channel 47 or may be viewed at www.gloucesterva.info/GCTV.

The meeting agenda includes possible additions to two existing school board policies. One addition limits audio or video recordings involving special education matters and the other outlines the process for awarding locally verified credits for graduation under emergency guidelines.

In other business, school division superintendent Walter Clemons will provide a follow up on the recent school calendar survey and on the amount of CARES Act funding the division may receive and how it may be spent.

The board will also consider action on a proposed emergency pay plan for non-exempt employees and the fiscal year 2021 school budget.

Public comment on agenda items will be facilitated via a dial-in phone line. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., dial 804-693-5842. Your call will be placed in a queue and answered in the order it is received once the public comment period begins. State your name and magisterial district and you will have three minutes to speak.
