The Gloucester School Board made several personnel appointments effective for the 2024-2025 school year at last week’s regularly monthly meeting.
Theresa Driessen of Williamsburg was appointed to a part-time speech-language pathologist position at Botetourt Elementary School; Gianna Lanciani of Kilmarnock was appointed to a teaching position at Abingdon Elementary School; Sara Malise of Ware Neck was appointed to a first grade teaching position at Bethel Elementary School; Susan Kahler of Port St. Lucie, Florida was appointed to a mathematics teaching position at Gloucester High School; Danielle Butler of Gloucester was named to a library media specialist position at Achilles Elementary School; Sarah Teson of Middletown, Rhode Island, was appointed to a fourth grade teaching position at Abingdon; Tracey McFarland of Gloucester was appointed to an early childhood special education position at Abingdon; Joshua Everett of Hayes was appointed to a criminal justice and cyber-security teaching position at GHS; and Kyla Perry of Sarasota, Florida was appointed to a kindergarten teaching position at Bethel.
In substitute appointments, Marcia Hall was named to a substitute bookkeeper and clerical position, effective Aug. 1; Joy Calloway was appointed to a substitute teaching position, effective Oct. 1; Amy Nolte was appointed to a substitute nurse position, effective Oct. 1; and Eva Davis was appointed to a substitute bus assistant position, effective May 2.
In contract reassignments, Kara Tyler was reassigned from an administrative associate position to a human resources specialist position, effective May 13.
The board also made several reassignments effective for the 2024-2025 school year.
Carolyn Briggs was reassigned from a bookkeeper position at Abingdon to the same position at Botetourt; Kenneth DeWitt was reassigned from an elementary teaching position to a fifth grade teaching position at Abingdon; Elizabeth DeWitt was reassigned from an elementary teaching position to a third grade teaching position at Abingdon; Sara Lindemann was reassigned from a fifth grade teaching position to a third grade teaching position at Abingdon; Taylor Mikula was reassigned from a second grade teaching position to a kindergarten teaching position at Abingdon; Kelly Dalton was reassigned from a kindergarten teaching position to a second grade teaching position at Abingdon; Diana Brock was reassigned from a fourth grade teaching position to a third grade teaching position at Abingdon; Joy LaRue was reassigned from an eighth grade science teaching position to a seventh grade science teaching position at Page Middle School; Erinn Peterson was reassigned from a sixth grade English Language Arts position to a seventh grade English Language Arts position at Page; Sara Masteller was reassigned from an eighth grade social studies teaching position to a seventh grade social studies teaching position at Page; Casey McCammon was reassigned from a seventh grade social studies teaching position to an eighth grade social studies position at Page; Keri Sue Baker was reassigned from a reading interventionist position to a seventh grade English Language Arts position at Peasley Middle School; Paul Poitras was reassigned from an English teaching position to a social studies teaching position at GHS; Sandra Wade was reassigned from a building level substitute position at Petsworth Elementary School to a regional autism paraprofessional at Botetourt; Lauren Elmore was reassigned from a special education position at Abingdon to a self-contained special education position at Bethel; and Emma Volpe was reassigned from a paraprofessional position at Abingdon to a regional autism paraprofessional position at Botetourt.
