The Gloucester County School Board unanimously approved additional appropriations for fiscal year 2027, including a 4 percent compensation increase for all employees, during its regular monthly meeting held Tuesday evening in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium. The state, which finalized its budget on June 29, is funding a 4 percent compensation increase for all standards of quality (SOQ) positions, which is the base number of employees that the state has deemed able to operate a school division. A local contribution of $549,665 is required to provide the 4 percent increase for all Gloucester County Public Schools employees, which has to be approved by the Gloucester Board of Supervisors. The state’s initial budgets reflected either a 2 or 3 percent compensation increase for SOQ-funded positions.
