The Gloucester County School Board announced at its regular monthly meeting in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium Tuesday evening that Allen Evans and Anita Parker applied to fill the remaining term of the board’s Petsworth district seat, which was vacated last month by Karen Espinoza. The term is set to expire on Dec. 31, 2025.
The board will hold a closed meeting Tuesday evening at the T.C. Walker Education Center to discuss the applicants and is expected to announce its decision the same night in open session.
Also on the board’s agenda Tuesday night was a resolution to recognize the Transportation Administration and Bus Maintenance Facility as a gun-free zone. The board approved this resolution, 6-0. This follows the board’s decision last month to establish TCWEC as a gun-free zone.
The board also approved a resolution to honor Executive Associate/School Board Clerk Carol Dehoux for her 31 years of service to public education as she is set to retire this month.
