Jessica Blakeslee of Gloucester spent the past year creating a wide variety of customized items in preparation for launching her new online business, Mauve Lava Arts. Working out of her home, Blakeslee makes everything from floral chandeliers to nutcrackers to T-shirts and key chains. She is now open and is particularly promoting her floral chandeliers for entry ways at homes and businesses. “It’s a great way to bring customers in,” she said. A nurse by profession, Blakeslee said she started creating crafts as a hobby, but soon began to get requests from friends and family and finally decided to go into business creating things she loves.
